Founder Thomas O. Radnoti (TOR)

TOR Engineering was founded by the late
Thomas O. Radnoti (TOR) in 1985, with
headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Tom
instilled a great sense of pride and
professionalism in our engineering services
and these qualities continue in our firm to
this day. The principals and registered
engineers of TOR Engineering have been
providing professional engineering services
since 1969.

Our primary areas of expertise are electrical
and structural engineering. Since the
beginning, we have focused on serving the
utility related electrical community. We
specialize in substation, transmission, and
distribution design.

Our substation design experience ranges from additions to rebuilds to complete new stations. These stations are at all voltage levels, up to 500kV. Our transmission line design expertise includes all voltage levels. We also have an extensive distribution design background, both overhead and underground. These projects include underground conversions of existing overhead lines, relocations, upgrades, new lines, equipment, services, and street lighting. TOR Engineering has also performed short circuit, powerflow, coordination, and capacitor application studies for our clients. More recently we have included the additional services of commercial, institutional, and residential electrical and structural design to our team.

Some of our major utility clients include Arizona Public Service Company, Salt River Project, Western Area Power Administration, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Nevada Power Company, and Citizens Utilities. We have also performed substation design for various small municipal utilities and industrial clients.

Our personnel have gained project experience by working with many organizations throughout the western and southern United States. Experience gained from the uniqueness of each project in the varying climatic and terrain features benefit the local project design and construction applications.

Through many years of industry associations we have developed contacts with outside personnel that have very specialized talents in the service disciplines we are offering. The talents of this work force are proven. This asset allows us to mobilize personnel quickly and provide services on large projects.
